The Aardvarks finished the 2016-17 season with a 16-10-3 record, a big improvement from last year.
To keep their momentum rolling, the Aardvarks took part in the inaugural spring training at the Arborg and District Arena. The Aardvarks experimented with some new line combinations and set breakouts with great success. The only downside of the spring training was the loss of their star player Gunner Gislason who suffered a broken collar bone during a match-up with the Shooters. Thankfully Gunner has the entire off-season to heal and get back to tip-top shape.
The Aardvark’s top brass want to see the team keep up their winning ways next season. In doing so, they informed each Aardvark that they have to post at least a 10 second time in the 20-yard dash portion of the 2017 Interlake Recreational Hockey League Combine. If the 10 second result is not obtained, one of the Aardvark’s many affiliated players may have a chance to crack the line-up on a full-time basis during the 2017-18 season.
