January 2017 Report

The Aardvarks posted a 4-2 record over the month of January.

The Aardvarks were in a bind Monday night against the Fussy P’s. Due to contractual issues with the Sandy Bar Senators, they had to call up the Magnusson boys from their farm team, the Arborg Shooters, to fill the vacant roster spots. The father and son duel played like Bobby and Brett, sniping the puck from all over the ice.

Some Aardvarks should feel threatened by the Magnusson’s stellar performance, for associate captain Gunner is not scared to send a guy to the press box due to poor performance.

“Which Aardvark is most likely to stick to their New Years’s Resolution” poll results

Congratulations to Aardvark’s defenceman, Travis Bobbee, on receiving 40% of the votes for which Aardvark is most likely to stick to their New Year’s Resolution.

Travis is determined to break Aardvark thoroughbred Jeff Fuz‘s single season record of 135 assists. Bobbee has purchased a year’s pass to attend Arborg Connexion’s yoga classes to work on his core strength and improve his stretch passes in 2017. The hockey enthusiasts around town have already spotted Bobbee trying on Lululemon pants at the local Red Apple.

Thanks to all of those that participated. Make sure to cast your vote in the next Aardvark poll.

Interviewer: Rate the following activities in order from most important to least important: greasing wheel bearings, hockey, going on vacation, grocery shopping and watching TV.

Aardvark in question: Hockey, watching TV, grocery shopping, going on vacation, greasing wheel bearings. I don’t like dealing with the grease gun.

Interviewer: What is your favourite pre-rec game meal?

Aardvark in question: Probably would be a large ham and pineapple pizza from Chicken Chef.

Interviewer:  How many times do you sharpen your skates in a rec hockey season?

Aardvark in question: Normally around 4-5 times a year. Depending how much change I have kickin’ around.

Interviewer: What is your greatest non-hockey talent?

Aardvark in question: My greatest non-hockey talent is dismounting and mounting a tire faster than anybody else in town.

Interviewer: What member of the Aardvarks reminds you most of a NHLer from  past or present?

Aardvark in question: Caleb Kanteluk for sure reminds me of Tomas Holmstrom in his prime. He’s got those good hands in tight around the net.

Interviewer: Which Aardvark is most likely to star in a Hollywood film?

Aardvark in question: I imagine Cory Johannesson could star in a movie about Alexander Burmistrov’s career as a professional ice hockey player. They share many similar real life experiences.

Interviewer: What is your best hockey moment?

Aardvark in question: Best hockey moment by far would be signing my contract with the Arborg Aardvarks. No doubt about it!

Interviewer: What is your least favourite arena to play in? What is your favourite arena to play in?

Aardvark in question: Ashern barn was the absolute worst to play in. You froze and couldn’t see from one end of the rink to the other. Best arena easily is Riverton. Fastest ice in the Interlake!

Interviewer: Thank you for your time!

Aardvark in question: Yup.

To play, fill in the form below. Good luck!
