End of year report

The Aardvarks finished the season six games under 0.500, posting a 10-16-2 record. The record does not truly reflect the team’s play, having lost a few barn burners by one or two goals.

Johannesson and Fuz both reached the 50 goal mark while Kanteluk scored a career high 20 goals. Gislason was the most consistent Aardvark, only missing two games, while Abuda averaged an astonishing  3.2 goals per game. The Aardvarks seem to have found a franchise goalkeeper in Barkman who is sure to help them in the future.

With seven months to go before next season, the Aardvarks will hold an end of year team meeting at veteran Buchko’s place to discuss their training routines for the upcoming 2016-17 campaign.

“Which Aardvark (not including Donny B) is most likely to ‘lace em up’ in their 70s” poll results

The Aardvark fans have spoken; they would love to see Cory Johannesson suiting up for Aardvarks for a few more decades. Johannesson is a committed Aardvark who started at the ripe young age of 16 and has not missed a season yet. He is sure to have a few more 50 goal seasons left in the tank.

Thanks to all of those that participated! Make sure to cast your vote in the next Aardvark poll.

The aardvark is a rather quiet animal. However, it does make soft grunting sounds as it eats.

February report

This report is brought to you by this month’s sponsor, Foster Tire.

The Aardvarks rebounded this February posting a 5-1-0 record. The Aardvarks now sit 4 games back of 0.500 this season.

The turnaround this past month can be credited to the stellar play of Jon Finnson and Dwight Thompson, both averaging 52 minutes of ice time per game. Their pizzazz and feistiness  greatly boosted morale on the bench.  Steady as he goes, J Fuz, also had a great month, continuing his pace to reach the 150 point club.
